To Nature Poem by Alex Fischer

To Nature

The Evergreen
It speaks to me
Tells me what I need to know
Shows me how to show

I ask it “Oh sweet, majestic, Evergreen, how do you stay so green? ”
It says to me “How does the bird follow the same path every year? How do the seasons change with the year? ”
“I do not know oh wise evergreen. Oh please tell me, please tell me ever-knowing evergreen tree.”
“Walk with me and I’ll show thee, this I do pray.”

I walked with this great Evergreen
Along the way he didst show me
The meaning of Nature in society
And all of the great things that he hath giveth to me
He lent me his knowledge
He showed me the world; the one that I care is about to unfold
He told me of the great things that live in this countree

And still to this day the greatest piece of advice
One that I would never forget, no not in my life
Was that, “Everything here makes up for the world
The birds, the bees, honey trees
The flowers, the bugs, the insects, the trees
So next time you come here
Oh please stop by me
And let me show you the life that
Means so much to you and me”

And up to this day I have vowed to see
That beautiful, wise, sweet evergreen tree
But I will not be alone,
I’ll bring a friend with me
Someone who doesn’t know about the great things
The birds, the bees, the honey trees
The flowers, the bugs, the insects, the trees
And all of the great things they do for you and me
