To The Woman Poem by Edmund V. Strolis

To The Woman

Rating: 5.0

Tis with a grace that she carries her burden
Never asking others to lighten her load
What monumental responsibilities she has
A philosophical shepherd tending her flock

Many are the hurdles within and without
Tightrope walking is a deceptively uneasy stroll
Her whirlwind of determined energy carries her
Touching and opening the world she moves in

Kind and engaged eyes move above a crescent smile
She could never lessen the potential joy of others
For she is without a mask, she always has time for others
With a special grace she brightens a strangers day.

A great tribute to women - the born mothers of this world. (10)

Thank you, Edmund. There are a plethora of women who walk this earth and history will never know their name but they have left their mark on strangers and friends alike. They raise the next generation and influence the generation after that, they walk beside their man and make his life a joy with a smile, with a flirty glance, with a thrifty hand on the finances. Their names may not be known but they shaped history nevertheless. Thank you for giving them this tribute. 10

My favorite people are men and women, boys and girls, Grandfathers and grandmothers, aunts, uncles. This business of equality is not something to be given to you, not something to force upon ignorant minds. Equality comes with self-awareness, integrity and a bold confidence that does not need a group or a banner to move under or within. No the woman knows her self-worth, she never questions her equality for she knows her worth and subscribes to the belief that those that may find disdain for her political beliefs, her values, her views on marriage, her common sense approach. She is rightfully suspicious of those that would black list her for holding onto traditional beliefs on motherhood. Suspicious of the Hollywood crowd that pretend to speak for her as if they were chosen ambassadors that were somehow given the right to say what should or should not be believed. The man, the church, the system, the history are painted with a broad brush by simple minds. Small people that are to be pitied for the bubble that they are unknowingly suffocating in. I hear the so-called tolerant people berate and belittle those that dare to think independently. A true woman knows her worth and nobody can shake her belief. Her happiness does not come at the expense of others but from the love that she finds from those good people that are blessed by her very existence.

What a lovely tribute to women. The society i live in has few men who would think of women in a positive light. So this write makes me highly pleased. It's true that a woman's life is not easy. She has to bear a lot. In return such words of appreciation as you have given are enough to lighten up her mood. A beautiful, largehearted acceptance of female gender in a significant write. A10

Thank you Nosheen, You know I have seen the grace first hand of women that are both bold and compassionate with integrity and an indomitable spirit. Their is a partnership that is sometimes lost within some cultures as well as entire civilizations. A certain warrior macho persona that relies upon the dominance and subjugation of all things, women included. Freedom, true equality and liberty of thoughts and actions must transcend this with each generation if in fact the true worth, the true potential and the true essence of a woman can be realized.
