Jump the creek in one leopard's leap
No need for the bridge or stepping stone
Mind your step around Mr. Jack-in-the-pulpit.
He has found a grand and stately home
Moonlight, the right light, for luminescent wings
A moth of a fairy what a bold mysterious thing!
The forest glistens with a dew drop delight
An ancient hoot serenades the deep of the night
Snapping turtle moss from some hidden swampy bog
A toadstool universe atop a ship wrecked log
Wish upon a shooting star to plant a hopeful seed
A stellar gift for you, here within this infinite sea
Still learning to understand the ways of creation. Thanks for sharing.
This is a beautiful poem Edmund. I see this as a beautiful wondrous journey through the mystical realm of nature that exists in our everday lives...yet it is spectacular! I love the line a toadstool universe atop a shipwrecked log. There is so much poetry in your poem. It is so expressive and effervescent really! Thanks for sharing this gem.
do believe the likes of John Muir and Thoreau were missing that unfortunate but necessary filter that keeps the working human focused on moving society along. Muir wood see the toadstool universe and when our minds are in the right light we allow our childlike wonder to shine again.and enjoy its magic too. The magic of wishing upon a star is the human hope behind it. The fact that you stand with eyes cast upward is magic.

I am a fan! Have read three different poems by Edmund V. Strolls and they each had their own theme. That is a unique thing in and of itself. The beauty of this just astounds me with how it is presented and how magical it is!
Because I hold your writings in such high esteem your observations mean so much.
