To Wait On A Smile Poem by Jessie J. Rivera

To Wait On A Smile

I will never put my faith into a belief, that truly believes,
we all will be happy when we pass.
Move on to a blissful afterlife.
Intriguing, enough to bring the passing day forth.
Such a process “GOD” forbids.
Shall I embrace
The hurt,
The hate,
The hollow, love my heart has endured in this turmoil life.
Anticipate the beating to pause, only for a smile.
Where the persons I wish to smile with will not view.
Why not now,
If it can be made.
Why the choice,
To wrong the rights.
Why the difference,
In all the choices.
Why must my heart no longer beat, just to wait on a smile.
