and; for all those who
preach to teach us why.
My Mom died, I was just 13
Ain't no god that really cared,
Ain't that No reason why
Have me a girl friend to marry
am i gonna die? hey!
We're just like some other kids in love
Enlist, persist war games insist,
pinball action, winning scores,
bump the enemy, death,
the prize for hero'd glory?
Got caught in the draft in '44
chilled, drilled and uni-formed
dog tagged us, a named number
No more of me a kid to slumber
Where we goin'...? Help us not
to think and blunder, at the sounds of
some canons, horrific thunder
My home town was B'klyn NY
'Please come back home soon'
my betrothed bride wrote....3 times daily,
'I love you all the very muches in the world '
Cadence Count Soldiers!
Drill sergeant ordered
Left and right and left,
right and left and right
Had a nice girl when i left,
right and left and right
Marching robots;
made to brave as obeying
jelly-belly'd soldiers
for killing souls, god knowing
we never needing ever, to repent
'Why must there be war? '
No use to kneel and pray.
nobody's listenin' anyway
'Take aim soldier!
You've not to reason why,
but just to kill or die'
I often thought.... then
There are kids i had to hate to kill
and; also were taught to kill me'
Just Imagine;
if leaders threw an
idiotic war party and;
non of us kids ever came?
Having fortunately survived to age 79,
insightfully spirited
that inhuman war sacrifices
decent souls for unresolved
political differences
Love and Empathy, be the
Omnipotent celebrated
victory for -
Peace, goodwill and
world happiness
'Let it be, Let it be'
We need tune in for a
'60's 'Woodstock' Spiritual Revival
Heart 'Beat' we must;
for everlasting Peace,
All of humanity befitting of Love
We inevitably, will survive
