To Write History Poem by Gary Hembree

To Write History

Rating: 5.0

I stormed the beach
In a foreign land
My hands held tight
To what would save my life
It was not raining
Yet thunder shook my body
The air was thick
Men were falling
Killing for a cause
To over throw the wicked
To write history in blood
Victory for now
So look upon your friends
The ones who didnt fall
To know their days are numbered
Should we not learn to get along
