Toaster Days Poem by John Myers

Toaster Days

Rating: 3.5

We had a toaster
And we made it into a bot
A robot
A screaming toaster robot
And he would scream it to us,
'Blurry! Blurry! I must
Make a snowman! '
We would always tell him 'no'
That it was too nippy outside
And not safe for a toaster robot
But he would scream so loud
The same incomprehensible thing
He never really crossed the line,
Wherever that may be,
But he got on our nerves
So we took him out back
And kicked him
We beat him, punched him,
And threw him until he wouldn't
Speak anymore
Because he was dead
We were sick of him
And we killed him

I would have done exactly the same to the wretched bot.
