Today I Awoke Poem by Fabian Gerard Stanley

Today I awoke and saw it was cloudy
But I know of silver linings hidden;
For, I am awake, I am alive,
And choose not to be bed ridden.

For today I must try, to win, to get by,
And prove it can be done,
To those in despair and of failing hope,
That the clouds are okay, they aren't so bad,
Because morning proves the Sun.

I'm glad I'm alive, up and about,
Ready for today's test;
And the result that all went well,
When tonight I lie down to rest.
