Tom Poem by Jan E Smith

Tom

Sitting here thinking of all the years gone by.
From eighteen to thirty some, how the time does fly.

When I was young and so naive I fell in love with you.
You were strong and handsome and knew just what to do.

I look now at the present while reflecting on the past.
What made our friendship end? What would of made it last?

I hear the wisdom of your years, it rings out loud and true.
You've grown to be a gentle man, that's what became of you.

Your love of life and flying, your children you hold dear.
Your words are kind and gentle and easy on the ear.

Now I must go, but before I do, there's more I want to say.
Thank you for the time you spent with me, then and today.
