Tonight Is Poet's Night

Tonight is Poets Night at the Cultural Hall where poets their verses read and recite
It is a nice place for to spend a few hours if for soul nourishment you have the appetite
The town's best to perform their work have been invited it should be a happy night of verse and song
As well we'll have the town's best singer songrwriters and with them feel free for to sing along,
Tonight is Poets night at the Cultural Hall and a great night it should be had by all
Such cultural occasions are worth patronizing and should be a happy memory to recall
The town's best Nature Poet will be in attendance her poetry she has been asked to perform
I love her most recent poem it is a literary masterpiece that she has penned about last week's storm
That raged through the town and caused financial heartache to residents with property damage to repair
A woman who has written marvellous poetry but this one with her finest can compare
To the Cultural Hall tonight you'd best go early or you will find yourself without a seat
'Tis always an occasion to remember the literary gathering where great talent meet
The town's best singer songwriters invited to perform 'twill be an evening of poetry and song
'Twill be a celebration of good poetry and with the singers you can sing along.

poet Henry David Thoreau

Whate'er we leave to God, God does,
And blesses us;
The work we choose should be our own,
God leaves alone.
