Too Costly Poem by Singleton M. Tate

Too Costly

I don't care what you say,
You're too costly for me today.
I want to see and hear what's new,
But the price that's set is too high for you.

You're not well-known to anyone, you see.
You're fresh on the scene and not proven to me.
I get that you have insight and you care, it's true.
Yet, you're too costly and for that fact, I'm blue.

Yeah, I've spent countless dollars on foolish things.
Designer name perfumes, jewelry and clothing,
I see no value in those purchases that's real.
It's just what I wear and what has appeal.

I won't really invest in what truly matters.
Mine or others potential and destiny,
Who's lives have been shattered.
You're too costly and I won't pay.
It's not important to make a-
Difference in this way.

Well to you, I must exclaim!
My cost is priceless and affordable-
To those... who's fame and fortune,
Has been written in time.
Not Too Costly... for-
Innovators... of Like Minds.
