Torrential Rains Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Torrential Rains

Rating: 5.0

Torrential Rains

Tell me fast rains,
Why do you fall
On all of us below you?
On all things under?

I thought we all like sunshine
And in that thinking
All is well.
But now I see properly.

Torrential rains
Wipe out the dirt
The dust of our lives.
It purifies the Earth.

I welcome you torrential rains.
Rain in my garden.
Rain on my body
And rain all day in my soul.

Oh torrential rain.

How beautifully you have portrayed the role of torrential rains which 'Wipe out the dirt / The dust of our lives / And rain all day in my soul.' Thanks for presenting this eternal joy through an amazing poem.
