Translucent Refuge Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Translucent Refuge

You are my safe haven, my refuge from temptation.
A diligent hymn sent from God's mouth.
The drops of rain spoke from God's tongue.
My shelter away from discrimination.
The difference between night and day.
The liberation of wind blown through tight closed fingers.
Such words to express waves of emotion soon to crash.
The distant future of the cosmos.
Craddled by the light of the stars.
The silent kiss of hands in prayer.
The small space between sealed lips.
Moments of grace.
Moving one foot in front of the other.
Dark spaghetti wool for hair,
Baptized by the touch of your tongue.
Living proof of the heartbeat that resides in the compassion of your eye.
As night quickly flees from the light of your steps.
My refuge, my faith, my religion.
Made in Gods image
