Tres Lagrimas Poem by RIC BASTASA

Tres Lagrimas

i dance
once for love
i go for
tango
we swipe legs
i bend you
like a bamboo.

three tears
falling from my
eyes
following the
contours of
my cheeks

the lights
are dying and
the dance continues
to complete
what we have
started

i sway to the
the side of life
and i finally
arrived at the
sidestep of
death.

it is all that
was told
you tell the grandchildren
about the dance of love
one when the man was
so in love
once when the woman
was a fool,
once when the bed was
warm
and the pillows as
soft as the
giving hands.
