Our sons & daughters off to war
We sent them to a distant shore
Atrocities witnessed by the score
Live with memories they abhor
Often sent at our nation's behest
Our warriors fight to quell unrest
It's often said we've transgressed
When we fight for the oppressed
No glory for those we sent to war
Or solace for those at death's door
Our soldiers maimed by the score
Are walking wounded forevermore
REMEMBER those we sent to war
They asked to serve, nothing more
Recalling the oath they duly swore
They display the uniforms they
proudly wore.....
