True Friendship Poem by Hannah Davies

True Friendship

Jenna and I have been best mates since we were ten
And we haven't really changed that much since then.
We always stuck together, even when we were bad
And cheered each other up, if the other felt sad.

There was a couple of year where we didn't see much of each other
Then we met on the train and it's like we have never been apart from one another.
Friends like that are hard to come by
She is like a soul-mate, I would be devastated if she were to die.

She welcomed me as part of her family
She never judged, just accepted me.
We have even got the same tattoo
'True Friendship', we stick together like glue.

I know I can tell Jen exactly what's on my mind
And that she would never leave me behind.
We seem to know what the other is thinking
Without saying a word, we know when the other is sinking.

Jen is like the sister I never had
She stood by me when I thought I was going mad.
I have got so much to thank her for
But I can't find enough words to express it any more.

We have now been best friends for almost twelve years
And during that time we have necked a few beers!
I hope our friendship continues til we are old and grey
Remember the memories of 'back in our day'!
