True Reality Poem by Curry Bascue

True Reality

Rating: 5.0

You’ve seen through it all.
What can I hide from you?
Every corner of darkness is slowly liberated
and faded from thought.
Where did this light come from?
The world outside is dark and dreary,
A place of nightmares and sleepless people.
Tell me what is burning so bright in your heart,
What has changed you and
throttled you past the world’s boundaries?

Me?
What thoughts could I ever inspire?
I have nothing for I am nothing…
Is there something I can’t see inside myself that you do?
A small ember you hope to ignite?
I can feel the change,
It’s as if I found finally where my memories we’re from.
You truly must be the light in my dreams.

The vast ocean reflects the heavens light upon my face,
Reminding me of the pseudo reality you saved me from.
The past is gone,
All that remains is you and the future,
The way it should have been all along.
