Of the many things I've come to know
Life's bittersweet taste and much more
A secret found I, it opens the door
To a trust in life in which we grow
When down in the valley wandering lost
Or up on the summit donning the crown
My feet are set on unshakable ground
I trust in life and the road I must cross
Oft felt I the dispiriting blow
Forced down, derided, cruelly mocked
Yet, deep in the heart hope remains locked
Cannot darken it's beautiful glow
Life is perhaps like the small seed, that
Struggles thru soil and troublesome rock
Bursting thru ground it's well strengthened stalk
Destined for glory at first unseen
Or a butterfly of humble birth
Beginning so small upon the ground
Soon to change into something profound
Heavenly beauty of sacred worth
This earthly sojourn once complete
Shall pass us swiftly thru death's door
And Standing on the other shore
A golden vision we will see
Trust in life
