The desert town lay silent
I drive through main street
Birds awake, dogs barking
Still the desert town lay silent
I turn up the volume on the stereo
Tires crunch on the gravel roads of main street
An electric guitar starts singing
And then
Boom, boom boom dah dah dah
Eagles blast out about a dark desert highway
Out my speakers, out the window
And filtering through the desert town
Filling up the silence and the alleys
Filling the air with music
I let the song scream out
When the tune is over
I roll on
The desert town lays silent
