Truth's Song Poem by Geody Harman

Truth's Song

Truth is a goal that many seek while traveling in life!
Truth is a blanket in the cold, while wading in the toil and strife!

For lies are commonly in our way, but the truth is all to rare!
So as you seek for it, walk it's path! That is the way truth shares!

Truth is the scientists closest friend, the honest in heart's best hope!
Truth is the saving sanctuary, life's fabled safety rope!

But truth can only be found by man, when it's enemy is shunned.
When our lies and deceit are set aside, it's a shock for sure, a stun!

But when you stop the lies that spew, that wrangle, choke and blind!
You free the soul to look for hope, Truth be told, you seek and find!

So, what will you do in life this day? Will you hope for truth this hour?
Will you shun all lies and be honest, and fair? Will you show your heart, or be hid by disguise?

This can only be answered with your thoughts and words, your actions tell the tale!
Your example sill shine for all to see, what your heart and soul will sell!

So let truth be the goal, and let honor be found... let the hope in God be strong!
Let your faith increase and your knowledge as well... let your voice be found to sing truth's song!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I had just written a poem about teaching my children and still found myself sitting at my computer and not yet 'fulfilled'. Let me explain... Usually when I write a poem, it gives me a sense of great fulfillment... great satisfaction, accomplishment. But sometimes I do not get it immediately... In these times I try to write as I feel inspired in the moment... this is one of those times. Also I originally was going to call the poem Truth? Truth! But the last line seemed to spring out at me and scream I am the title! May you earnestly seek out the truth and find it this day!
