Turned The Table Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Turned The Table

There is craze
For boys
In our country
And we seek blessings from an almighty

The girls are preferr3d less
Even though parents face
Lot more hardships from boys
The girls are always providing help and joy

Even though there is awakening
The blind opinion is still deepening
The occasion is celebrated for boy's birth
The girl's arrival is considered as death's warrant

In some of the communities
The dowry system prevails
Even though education has reached top level
The old effect still prevails

The girls have proved better
They have become trend setter
The boys are cause of concern
Whereas the girls have turned the corner
