Twigs Poem by Teniola Olajide

Twigs

Rating: 3.0

The strength of a man is as a rain drop
Flailing, hithertho with wind of life
Tested as trials, obstacles and hard knocks
Truly,
The strength of a man is not his, no not a dime!

Like twigs, we are feebly attached souls
Foes, friends matter no more when we are blown
As rustled leaves detached from life's tree
Prone to this fall, are other twigs

Like twigs shall we all fall
Laying as cramped on earth's soothing crust
And when the days of summer comes
Our works will either be blessed or cursed

Hang therefore unto life's blooming tree
With reverence, ruminate on every deeds
Be it good or bad: when you fall, all we see
The glory of done deeds when you no more speak
