Two Doves In Love Poem by Susan Alldred Lugton

Two Doves In Love

Rating: 4.0

I noticed something in the park today,
Two sweet little doves involved. in play.
They sauntered around just a foot apart,
as if something was about to start

His feathers ruffled, almost on end.
She flirted, danced, saying my love I send.
They met and kissed with their beaks entwined.
I watched, enchanted, it filled my mind.

She walked away as if bored with love.
He took his chance and leapt from above
She stretched her head up proud so high,
It was then her coo became a sigh.

Over now their feathers parted,
ventured back to where they had started.
I thought again about human love.
How nice it would be to be a dove
