Two Pairs Are We Poem by Dave Schoeff

Two Pairs Are We

Two pairs are we
And we travel through space.
We keep to our pathways
And we never race.

Though we are two pairs
We are just three in number.
The largest rules daytime
The smallest your slumber.

The large pair has
A star for its middle.
The small pair's satellite
Is dry, cold, and little.

Can you guess who we are
These pairs in a dance?
Here's a hint
One partner has a country named France!
