We will have no fear of love and war
we will have no fear of friends and enemies
we will have no fear of bombs and bullets
we will have no fear of death and destruction;

we wake up in the morning facing fatalities
we sleep in the night after burying our dead;
will you ever come and build our bridges
will you ever come and re-build our houses?

Will you ever be able to return to us our unity
will you ever forgive our trespassers
will you ever be able to gauge our troubles
will you ever see thro our sorrows?

You will have to be born in our country
you will have to hear silently the explosions
you will have to be thankful if you survive
you will have to be an Ukrainian to endure it all;

you will have to re-assess your apprehensions
you will have to breathe and die bravely
you have no time to pray or cry
you will have no time to run or hide;

you will have to have persistence in your heart
you will have to hold resilience in your veins
you will have to propel boldness in your feet
you have to be an Ukrainian to be tough like us.
