Uncomfortable Silence Poem by Madison Riffle

Uncomfortable Silence

Silence, cold and dead
That's all I heard from you
No matter how many times I tried
I couldn't get you to speak
I wish you would have said
What you really felt
Maybe then we wouldn't be
In this odd situation
One of tension
One of fear
I'm not sure what to say
Now that we're always quiet
Drifting apart
One uncomfortable silence after another
