Under The Influence Poem by Eduardo M. Oran

Under The Influence

Midnight cruises aren't cutting it anymore,
I'm searching substances that aren't sold at any store,
What else do I have left to lose seems like I'm growing poor,
Sobbing is causing my heart to be sore.

My lips are numb and I'm slithering all my words,
I keep stumbling over invisible birds.

These clouds aren't all they're cut out to be,
I'm hovering over my own body staring down at me,
I feel trapped in eternity not being able to breath,
My chest is in pain, the white light is what I'm fiening to see.

Waves of negative energy is what I begin to feel,
I keep seeing patterns and different shades of teal,
I'm hearing God's voice overpowering me, is this real?

All this time I was wrong,
I think I've found faith like the song,
This is scary, there are blood stains in the tip of my bong,
This night is starting to feel mighty long.
