Unending Storm Poem by Alex McCullough

Unending Storm

Movin through the sea,
Which dwelled in me,
I sank to the bottom,
As I felt the tears of loneliness,
Swallow me....everyday.
Empty clouds,
Filled my skies,
Passing right on by,
As I stood in wait,
Remembering the....rainy days.
Silently following the days and nights,
I slowly came to stop,
Forgetting where I left myself,
As I looked back,
Wondering what voice had called me.
Time kept flowing right on by,
As the tears ran down my eyes,
Screaming, 'don't leave.......me alone',
To whoever would wait behind for me.
The sadness which held me captive,
Only opened up for a second,
And within that moment,
The light that shined forth,
Gave me such courage,
That I ran from where I stood,
And out towards the tomorrow before me!
I say yes,
The one word I know now,
Because of you,
I was able to find shelter from the rain.
And with one step,
I'll protect you, no matter what gets in our way,
Because the love we share,
Is the only road to the future we're searching for.
