Unequivocal Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Unequivocal

Unequivocal.
Unambiguous.
Leaving no one to doubt.
Or explanations to find,
For responses returned...
Requesting actions urgently to take.

Unequivocal is an admission heard given,
Of the possibility that other life forms...
Could exist in the vastness of this Universe,
Much more intelligent.
Than that which is on the planet Earth.

And...
Even have the capability,
To appear and disappear.
Done to do whenever they wish.
And in 'identifiable' objects.
Never before on Earth to have known.

For decades sent in this vast Universe,
Signals of invitations...
Blasted on the top of speeding rockets.
To have detached from them orbiting devices.
Sending depictions of Earth.
And where exactly,
In the Universe Earth can be found.

And like the hypocrites,
Many inhabitants on Earth are taught to be.
Invitations sent to get,
With a response anticipating...
In the hope to have returned and receive.
Becomes immediately rejected.

"Uh.
Oh! Wow.
Trust me.
I hear you loud and clear.
And obvious it is,
You and your entourage...
Have been on our guest list,
For many many years.

However...
None of us expected you,
To look like...
ALIENS!
Therefore...
We must uninvite you.
Hopefully one day,
We will get over our hypocritical ways."
