Unfading Promises Poem by Sholly Aderele

I use to have a special dream
that someday, i would meet someone wonderful
whose love would make my life complete,
someone who could share the secret place of my heart,
someone who would understand my feelings that goes deeper than words,
someone i could call on to give a helping hand,
someone i could count on to care and understand,
someone to laugh with or tell my troubles to.
That was what i hoped for and you came along and touched my life.
You filled my life with joy and laughter,
you gave me courage to carry on,
you gave me faith when i had none,
you gave me hope of unfading promises.
Words alone cannot tell you how much you have really touched m life.
But if i lose all i have and find myself without a dime
or anything to call my own,
it's okay
as long as you stand by me.
