Unsuspected Sharing Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Unsuspected Sharing

Change to face and embrace it,
Is not a planned experience...
For anyone to schedule.
Nor is a normalcy,
Lived to accept routine.
Suddenly removed.
And replaced,
By introducing obedience.
Rules.
With a doing of that,
Which is an unfamiliar...
Practice to perform.
Enforced.
Supported and endorsed.

This course to take,
Leaves many...
Wanting it wished,
For their normalcy had...
As it was to get back.
Yet nothing had to experience,
Does not return...
To have forever last.
No matter who sits,
Demanding this.

Each phase of life,
Has its lessons to learn.
Some come gradual to accept.
Yet others done,
Come caring less.
Who resist to dismiss them.
Opportunities available,
To pay undivided attention...
Seldom arrive,
With bells and whistles.
Prioritizing their importance.
Either they are received...
Or not to accept the invitation,
Few can say...
They were left unaware.
Although seasons, holidays...
And occasions to chose,
As special events...
Are anticipated consciously.
Long before,
The time should be mentioned.

'A pendulum that swings,
Has yet to remain...
At one end to stay there!
And preparations taken,
Should be made pro-active.
Avoiding a rushing,
Into impulsive actions.'

Anyone who lives,
Feeding the mind...
On whatever it is to nourish.
Will eventually discover,
Some of it stays to decay.
If not updated.
While much of it,
To eliminate as waste.
Is flushed somewhere.
Left to leave behind.
Whether or not,
The time of the experience...
Is a doing to enjoy.
Or a forgotten memory,
Annoying someone else.
Who remembers,
The unsuspected sharing of it!

'Good God!
What on EARTH is that?
You could at least,
CLOSE THE DOOR! '

'Didn't you hear me,
Mention that pendulum?
I warned you about it.'

'WHAT?
I CAN'T HEAR YOU! '

'THE DOOR IS CLOSED!
BUT YOU AND THAT NOSE,
REFUSE TO TURN...
FROM IT TO GO AWAY!
There is something,
To be admired about that! '

'WHAT? '

'I said...
I ADMIRE YOUR CURIOSITY! '
