Funny, to me anyway; how the most
Uneducated in this world
Choose to make clear their lack of
Knowledge in the area of poetry
Yet find the time to seek
Out opportunities to
Undermine the efforts of others, who
Surely just want to express
Personal thoughts or life
Experiences with sincere poetry
Readers, who
May choose to click on their poetry.
What kind of sicko could be
Aroused or stimulated by
Dissing other’s poems and
Suggesting they rate a “one”?
sonja...thank you...astute observation apparently... craig...thank you for reading...however i am surprised that my poem would raise a question i guess...it was intended more to 'answer' a situation...if you look closer or perhaps google acrostic, you will maybe agree...thanks again, maggie
Your poem raises an interesting question. The problem with any rating system like the one here is that there is no standard established to determine the meaning of a 1, a 10, or anything in between. As a result, most likely any rating here comes down to 1 (I hate it) ,10 (I love it) , and shades of gray in between. More useful than any number would be the comments about why one would give any poem any particular number...with apologies to Walt Whitman, 'the numbers, nothing; the comments, everything.'

Well said. I've been struck by the curse of the 1 a couple of times and I wouldn't mind if they had the balls to leave their name and explain why they hated my blood, sweat and tears... sorry...poem so much. Constructive criticism is always wecome, plain rudness is not. Hugs Anna xxx
