Anna is someone I adore deeply. From the hip: from the WOMAN that she is - always on the spot. Like her or loathe her - well, hell, the second isn't going to happen (unless you have no taste) . Always provoking. Always worth looking up. So damned bang-on! Love ya sweetheart. t xxx

Unlike you or I; Anna Russell is a poet, and I can not think of a better blessing or a worse curse.

Anna Russell’s poetry is at times dark yet funny and brutally honest, sometimes to the point of nearly demonising herself but at the same time leaving the reader with the knowledge that we all have these traits and are only human after all! ! There are times while reading her that she turns phrases so quickly they catch me unawares and have me laughing aloud. In my opinion she has mastered the basis for great poetry in that she seems undaunted by what people think of her and just continues to be herself, I firmly believe that she will one day be widely published to much laughter and applause. Having been in touch with her regularly over nearly a year now through PH and more recently by E-Mail I have found her to be a very intelligent and passionate person who can speak at length about a wide range of subjects (Just don’t mention Israel or Imperialism, else a lefty rant may…. I mean is certain too…. Commence ;) Apart from her attributes as a writer and her warm and funny personality I may be slightly biased in some regard because she is after all a Hip Hop Hoe and I kinda fancy the wriggly, jiggly hole aff ‘er ;)
