Up Against And For Poem by Wes Thompson

Up Against And For

Rating: 4.5

it keeps me up late
deciding who is whose
admit or refuse, pick or choose

you can bury your lover
or shrug off petty rules
but it leaves a bruise, pick or choose

I went out in the downpour
forgot what I went out for
now I'm soaking from head to toe

if you think you can tell rain
from tears I'm amused
spare me the excuse, pick or choose

a friend considered a foe
and I try not to show
how hard it is when he makes you smile

it seems so useless now
giving up this self abuse
it's all lose-lose, pick or choose
