The way that poem
hypnotizes you
is as simple as having
parallel lines drawn one upon
the other
repeatedly until you get tired
about the eternal repetitions
which numbs your mind into
a surrender of
jejune, as though what is happening
is nothing
nothing nothing nothing but a blur
in a line of events
marring your capacity to
imagine
disrobing whatever butterfly
or flower
or vine that hovers, that blooms
that clings
upon a tower of
red bricks....
