Valentine is here
Love is in the air
Everybody becomes a lover
Love is by all, demonstrated
Love is by all, commemorated
Through romance and friendship
To and with our beloved better half
But what baffles me is
Why celebrate love on a special day
While our God's loyal love
Never ever ends or wanes?
Love must be evergreen
To qualify to be godly
To typify our Father's nature
If love is to be celebrated at all,
Then this Valentine time
Must be an annual show of love
By patently precious partners
Who have steadily and strikingly shown love
Thus definitely deserving distinct treat
For their stirring show of love
What happens after Valentine-Day?
Is love a regularly revealed resident
In the Valentine-honoured homes?
Do the gifts and celebrations,
That smack the advent and advance
Of Valentine Day, patently persist
In our Valentine-valued venues?
These are probing questions
Craving for clarifications, crystal clear
That will enable us ascertain
If Valentine celebration
Is an annual tribute to love
Worth spending time and resources on
Or just a ritual with no real meaning
62. Don't be deceived
