Venus And Adonis Poem by Yasmin Hemmat

Venus And Adonis

Rating: 5.0

Beneath the sun's warm, golden gaze,
I found him in the wildwood's embrace,
Adonis, a mortal, handsome and brave,
The spark that kindled my heart's hidden blaze.

With him, the world seemed a softer place,
We wandered through fields where wildflowers bloom.
In his laughter, I found such grace,
A melody that dispelled all my gloom.

In his arms, I inhaled his alabaster skin's perfume,
He touched me with his rare and tender fleeting caress,
His fiery kiss ignited love's sweet bloom,
And made our souls coalesce.

But the gods watched us, their envy grew,
Their hearts of stone could not understand.
Ares unleashed a boar to pursue,
A beast set on destroying our love's land.

The hunt began, the earth trembled in fear,
An abyss opened within me, seething with wrath and vengeance.
Adonis, my beloved, drew near,
His fate sealed by the gods' cruel disgrace.

I watched in horror, as time stood still,
His blood soaked the earth's arid face.
A rose bloomed where his heart's blood did spill,
The crimson bloom marked our love's embrace.

I cradled him in my arms, cold and still,
My tears mixed with his blood on the ground.
The warmth of his life now gone, a chill,
Grieving, I whispered his name without sound.

Though time may pass and eons may flee,
The pain of his loss won't fade with time.
Adonis, my love, forever a part of me,
A soul entwined in eternal sublime.

Venus, now cursed with this grief,
A goddess longing for a love once lost.
The ache within her heart brings no relief,
A tragic fate, their paths forever crossed.
