Viewing the profiles Poem by Rick Elpers

Viewing the profiles

Viewing the profiles
Cause pain and doubt
As I ask if anyone
Really is that full of life
Why would you need someone
To fit like a puzzle piece
Perhaps out of fear
Revealing the holes you bury deep
That your soul can't hide
Unless you slow down
Whoever should choose this one
That one must be vigilant
Not to expose humanity
Into your carefully crafted life
For the drama avoided
Will well up to spill out onto secure
Illusions showing what it is
That caused being alone unbearable
So as to post yourself confident
Secure and worthy
We all know such illusion crumbles
And if you've humility it'll be alright
But not if you're not ready and fight
The shadow you see as me
Whoever I am.
