The night sky shining with sparkling variation of blues,
A sensational work that captured the turbulent mind
Of Vincent, shining with dots of shimmering colours.
The blue sky, the twinkling stars, the serene river,
The earthy bank, all at night - a sensational creation
Of the ‘Starry Night' reflected through gas lights.
A painting that highlighted the five elements of nature -
Water, fire, earth, ether and air - the magnificent creations.
After Vincent completed his masterpiece
Of the painting of ‘The starry night',
Vincent wrote to Theo;
'That is the eternal question,
Is life all that there is of life?
Or do we know only one hemisphere before our death?
Speaking for myself, I have no idea what the answer is
But the sight of the stars always starts me thinking.'
Vincent wanted to capture the night sky,
Just like the sunny days when he painted the orchards
In full bloom, of peach, plum and almond trees.
Within a year in Arles, he made one hundred and eighty-seven
Oil Paintings of landscapes and portraits of exceptional beauty.
Vincent poured out his entire inner strength, vitality.
Every drop of his sweat, blood and time,
To capture the essence, beauty and meaning of nature.
Vincent was a profound philosopher,
It did not matter how many days he lived on this earth.
What mattered was how many stars he could embrace
While he breathed and poured his skill into his paintings.
Starry Night was an experiment with night sky,
Walking along the Rhone River carrying gas lights.
The countless stars that would shine forever, beyond his life,
A symbolic celebration of life on earth with splendorous joy.
What a wonderful creation of Van Gogh. A masterpiece dominated by vivid blues and yellows reflecting the bright stars. A great work that will be remembered beyond his lifetime.
I liked his philosophy in life. ' It did not matter how many days he lived on this earth, what mattered was how many stars he could embrace.' Very inspiring!
So beautifully inked. Great painting of the starry night by the great painter. Thanks for sharing.
This fills the readers heart with wonder and awe! .. Truly magnificent! .. Endless 10'S And Stars! ..++++++++++++++++++++++++
p.s. ***** stars Speaking of stars, my Google research shows the painting's name as 'The Starry Night', NOT 'The Starry Nights' nor 'Starry Nights'. Hmm? ? ? ? bri : )
(cont.) [[ WWll's Winston ('Winnie') Churchill was said to have spoken of 'blood, sweat, & tears'; years later Blood, Sweat, and Tears was the name of an American jazz rock band. ]]
stanza 3: oops! 'eight seven' or 'eighty seven' or 'eighty-seven'? It probably all means the same thing. : ) Now, I doubt painting too all of his 'blood'. (cont.)
