Violation Iv

MARRIAGE ARRANGED

She got married after winter,
She was at the centre
of all attention, at the in law's
for a few days.
celebration is only a part
colour and jest it impart.

Then the reality unfold
A maid is a maid, uphold
neither a daughter nor a sister
relation not real but foster
humility entail in roaster.

From morning till night,
Toils are never light.
At night husband ask for his share,
yeild for his fun, agony lay bare.
She asks 'Where is the pleasure? '

Leave her own people,
A maid in another household
banished forever from her friends
also family, uproooted and baffled.
This was her new home
inside she is an episome,
where love isn't necessary,
shackled with duty's bound,
hesitant and dumbed,
hide head and face,
in a veil, benumbed.

Why the bride only
has to leave her family
settle with the unknowns?
But the groom despise.
Bride, a caged bird,
to sing is a vice,
chirping is unwise
you are free no more
shortened wing's feather
the sky looks pretty far.

Compromise. the only site,
for attachments you exercise,
feelings will follow, to abide
no option but yield, to be precise.
Life doesnot promise happiness
neither you are free to harness
this part of the world, stagnant,
suppression of women, apparent.
