Visionless Poem by Luke Bushen

Visionless

Her eyes were closed to life's promise,
Her hope had gone to rot.
Her attention was drawn to every-
Thing that she was not.

Her heart was black with sorrow from
The doubt that filled her head.
Her ears were bleeding from all of
The painful things they'd said.

For she believed them, every word,
Each 'how not' and 'how to'
The false identity they gave her
She took to be true.

She followed every path they placed
Before her weakened feet.
Her unanswered questions led way
To eternal deceit.

Her life lacked vision and focus,
She knew not where to stand.
And so, she laid her broken life down
And took His outstretched hand.

For if you follow a crowd you'll be
Led many different ways,
But if your hope is in His hands
You can't be led astray.
