Voices Speaking Poem by Amy Kerswell

Voices Speaking

I hear the voices,
Talking to me day and night.
I’m standing on a ledge and they are telling me to leap,
Telling me to jump straight down,
Into a pond where I can drown.

I hear the voices,
Telling me what choices to make,
I hear the voices, so cunning, so sly,
Telling me that the answer is, Suicide,

I hear the voices, Getting louder,
And it all just becomes to much,
So I jump.
And in my head as I’m lying there, there is but only one sound,
Which is the voices that are echoing all around.
