Vow Of Darkness Poem by Keri Jopplin

Vow Of Darkness

Rating: 4.5

The day is over bright sunshine is gone,
The night is upon us the dark will be long.
Now is the time when all demons come out,
For it is now that times full of doubt.

Bumps in the night with tricks of fright,
Hurry and be gone and bring on the light!
Many eyes of darkness they're as black as dirt,
Filled with lust, greed and hurt.

Waking up crying & hysterical with sweat,
Someone is chasing me but no one I've met!
Feelings of terror, uncertainty & despair;
No one to hold me, comfort & share.

Halloween is when all boogies are here,
Not night after night and following with fear;
Say it won't happen again & again,
Nightmares and bad dreams, soon they will end.

My step-dad has stopped a long time now;
But are my dreams his, was that his vow?

I thought it was setting up to be a cute Halloween poem, but in the end it got darker and really scary. Wow. -chuck
