Voyage Poem by Alex McCullough

Voyage

Walking such a distance,
I became lost in myself,
Not recognizing anything around me,
Besides the footsteps you left me.
The words you said the day we met,
Still echo deep within my heart,
Making it almost impossible,
For me to forget you even now.
The sky's breeze has changed alot through the years,
Making it difficult for the flame you gave met to stay lit,
But the colors you showed me,
Continue to shine brightly down this road.
You don't understand,
How you blew my world away,
Turning like a hurricane out of control,
And setting me back into happiness.
Why did the distance grow so great,
Leaving me here all alone,
I don't know if I'll ever know the answer to that,
But I know for certain that when I'm with you again,
I really won't care either way,
Because I'll have the important thing I lost with me again.
