Waiting Poem by Yasmin Khan

Waiting

She was waiting
It seemed for ages
Crumpled papers
Fingers fidgeting
Wind’s whispers
Or feet stepping
On wooden stairs

Flapping feathers
Or tap on the door
Lines on the page
Change into a face
Smiling eyes
Comforting lies

sighs deepen
The head drops
On the table top
In sleep’s arms
In the dream land
On a flowery path
Both they walk

Three stanzas of poetic splendour. Let the waiting now give way for a meeting. A good write Jasmineji.

The long wait for someone engrosses the mind to such an extent that she is gifted with the blessing of meeting him at least in her dream! In sleeps arms, let her amble in his sweet company for long! Enjoyed! !

a concrete poetic beauty is skilfully given to an abstract action of waiting! ! !
