Waiting For Christmas Poem by Eunice Barbara Novio

Waiting For Christmas

Rating: 5.0

Frosty's uneasy
and the little bears with Santa hats;
Santa's been squirming since
November's on the air.
The huge plastic tree
that looks like a fir
still wrapped carefully
waiting to be opened excitedly
by little hands in a hurry.
The crystal orbs
and the twinkling stars
still wrapped in tissue papers
save for some who take a peep
if Christmas is here.
For many years, three pairs of
little hands helped set up the tree
as the calendar leaf changed
From November to December.
But that was many years ago,
when there were tree little
kids amazed by tree
with magical gifts appeared
under it on Christmas Eve.

Beautiful depiction of the excitements inherent in preparation for Xmas in a happy christian home, well articulated and nicely penned with conviction. Lovely poem beautifully brought forth. Thanks for sharing Eunice. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.

I recall the excitement and joy as a child. It's too bad that this kind of happiness and love can't or won't be a year-round thing. Thanks, Eunice

waiting to be opened excitedly by little hands in a hurry. you have expressed the excitement and joy of children when they wait for Santa. a real mood before Christmas, the waiting for the Son of God in the Manger. Christmas has become a feast for all devoid of religious affinities. thank you very much. tony

thank you very much. Our family has been celebrating Christmas far away from each other for the past 5 years. It's really sad thinking of our Christmases together when they were young.
