Wake Up Mommy Poem by Amber Whitmore

Wake Up Mommy

Wake Up Mommy

She sits on the blood stained carpet next to her mommy, so quietly and still lying on the bed.
Daddy said not to wake mommy when he slammed the door behind him. She wishes mommy would wake up so mommy could hurry up and clean the mess up before daddy gets home.
Daddy will be so mad she still wears the bruise from the night daddy left after he got angry and mommy went to sleep that was three nights ago she hasn’t bothered mommy once.
She made peanut butter sandwiches for the little kids because they were hungry she hopes daddy doesn’t get mad she used the stove to warm up the baby’s bottle he was crying She knows she isn’t suppose too she is still to little but mommy can’t wake up mommy just lays on the bed so cold even after she covered mommy up.
She doesn’t understand why mommy can’t wake up mommy never slept this long before after daddy hit her maybe tomorrow if mommy’s not awake and daddy’s not home she will go next door maybe the neighbors will know how to wake up mommy so that she can clean the house before daddy gets home.
So he doesn’t hit mommy again.

WAKE UP MOMMY I NEED YOU! ! !
