Walking Alone During These Winter Nights Poem by Justin Gildow

Walking Alone During These Winter Nights

Walking alone during these winter nights
I'm left with my own thoughts
As well as cherishing everything I've got

Walking alone during these winter nights
I'm on my own
Jobless and no girlfriend
Nowhere for me to go
Nothing for me to do

The alleyways are my safe haven
And one day I hope to reach out and touch
heaven
If only for a few seconds
If only for a few moments

Walking alone during these winter nights
I stand by the bridge
Looking down at the river
Watching the water rush along
Just letting it relax me

Afterwards
I continue to walk along and alone
Seeing this person and that person
Passing all of them by

Looking up at the night sky
The stars are out
But the moon is nowhere to be found
I continue to walk along and alone
In this dismal town
With nothing to attach to my name
