Walking Home At Night In The Rain Poem by Justin Gildow

Walking Home At Night In The Rain

Walking home at night in the rain
On a night like this
There's a feeling of protectiveness
There's also a feeling of fear

As I walk
The lights shine down on the street
I notice the garbage cans have all been set out
Pieces of newspaper litter throughout the area
Ranging from the current events of what's happening
now
To many other subjects which are unreadable because
of the water from the rain

I hear cats along the alleyway
And I can tell some make their homes in the back alleys

Walking home at night in the rain
I'm alright tonight
I'm feeling alright tonight
I may be and feel soaked to the bone
And I may be alone
But I'm almost home
As I walk
Nothing can stop me
Or my train of thought
As I continue walking home
Nothing
