Walled Around What Is Already Isolated Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Walled Around What Is Already Isolated

These have to be the best of times,
Easily to find...
Being revealed from confinement.
Those with minds holding onto beliefs,
Idolized to memorialize...
Statues and symbols,
To deceive as a reality.
That contradicts the facts.
Of a history researched.
And known by those protesting,
Against the proof of truth produced.
With a doing to use racism, conflicts.
And division of all kinds to redefine,
Truth for what it is.
Thought secretly to keep buried,
Underneath evil misdeeds and corruption.

Yet...
Even those with beliefs,
They can maintain their evil ways...
For all eternity.
Are awakening to realize,
What they build in concrete to deceive...
Crumbles eventually.
As truth continuously chips away,
At the bottom where reality...
Remains unchanged to stay what it is.
Regardless who attempts to distract,
Proof from the facts to discover that!
Or who keeps false beliefs,
Kept to fantasize their existence to delude.
Fenced in, gated.
To build walls around what is already isolated.
